The Nathan Bayreuther Jazz Combo |
|
|
It is this style that brought together pianist Nathan Bayreuther and bassist Jesse Charland in 1998 when they both performed a rendition of “Blue Skies” in a local concert. Subsequently they began working together, and, after performing with various other instrumentalists, met and welcomed drummer Chris Kent. The three immediately formed a close bond, resulting in a well-matched combo and a tremendous sound. Over the years jazz has taken on many different forms, incorporating a number of styles such as funk and rock. While this contemporary jazz has been popular, the Combo wants to retain the “classic jazz sound” dating back to the 1930’s. This classic sound is timeless and is appreciated by listeners of all ages. If there is one aspect of the group that makes them stand out from many others, it is the fact that they absolutely love what they’re playing, and they make no attempt to hide it. They have the great ability to read each other and communicate very well, and they’re not afraid to throw in a few well-placed curveballs to make each other (and the audience) laugh! The Combo provides music appropriate for all venues, anywhere from an upbeat outdoor concert to a mellow evening dinner engagement. Their humor, talent and enjoyment of the music they play provides a welcome addition to any setting.
